Lackey

Lackey had his leg amputation on 9-23-22 and is like a whole new dog! His mobility is great (we were expecting this as that leg has basically just been hanging for a few months), and you can tell that he is feeling so much better!

Welcome Lackey!  This handsome fella lost his original owner and was taken in by a family friend.  Unfortunately he was hit by a car earlier this summer and his new family was unable to get him the ongoing care that he needed.

Lackey is a super sweet guy who is fine with dogs and cats.  He is crate and house trained and goes along with whatever you ask of him.

His current medical situation is pretty heartbreaking – his elbow was broken when he was hit by a car, and unfortunately due to how it healed, his right front leg will need to be amputated.  He also has a couple of intestinal parasites that are being treated, as well as erlichia (a tick-borne infection).  His skin is in pretty rough shape, so he is on some treatment for that as well.  Through all of this, he is such a happy guy though! He always greets you with a smile and a tail wag and is so grateful to have a soft warm bed to rest on.

Lackey will be looking for his furever home after he recovers from his amputation.  He will be looking for a home with minimal stairs and someone to spoil him.
