Adoptable Saints
All of our adoptable Saints are located in private foster homes.
Our goal when placing dogs is to match the right dog to the right home – our team of volunteers will work with you to match you with the perfect dog for your home and life!
We require all animals in your home to have appropriate vaccines and for all dogs in your home to be neutered or spayed as appropriate for their age.
Mortimer - Adoptable

Age: 5ish
Cats: No small animals
Dogs: selective – needs slow intros
Kids: over 14
The nice rescue people have asked me to tell you about myself, so here goes ….
I am a world class squirrel defense expert. I have been told that i shouldn’t lead wth that, but I think it’s the most important, so there we go. I am also an expert at eating snacks 🙂 aaaaaaand now they say they are taking over writing this ….
Morti is around 5 years old and survived prostate cancer in 2021! The required surgery has made him a bit sensitive about his rear end when it comes to other dogs sniffing it, so he can be a bit dog selective. He does better with female dogs that respect his boundaries. He was not kidding about the squirrel defense expert bit – he has an ongoing feud with the neighborhood squirrels at his foster house.
Morti can’t live with cats (or any small animals really) as his prey drive is just too high. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and a family that can continue his structured daily walks. If you have a garden, he will “help” you in it. His foster mom solved this by giving him his own garden bed to till.
Morti is house and crate trained, and does fine in the crate while his foster family is away from the house.

Maple - Adoptable

Age: 4ish
Cats: unknown
Other dogs: selective – needs slow intros
Kids: over 12
Say hello to Maple, a big-hearted Saint Bernard with a love for people and a personality as sweet as her name. This gentle giant is looking for a forever home where she can be the center of attention—she prefers to be your one and only pet.
Maple is all about the simple pleasures in life: lazy strolls around the neighborhood, long naps in sunny spots, and belly rubs that make her eyes roll back in bliss. She’s a pro at lounging and would happily spend the day by your side—or sneakily helping herself to any unattended snacks when you’re not looking (she’s got some serious stealth skills!).

Blanquita - Adoptable

Age: 3ish
Cats: yes
Kids: over 7
Dogs: yes with slow intros
Say hello to our little “Saint” friend Blanquita!
Yes we know she’s not a Saint Bernard, but her heart is as big as one! Picked up as a stray, this little girl is doing amazing with crate training and house training! It does take her a few days of crate and rotate to get used to new dog friends, but she does come around! She will need a home that is willing work on her confidence with her through R+ training methods and lots of patience. It takes her about 20 minutes to warm up to new people, and she hasn’t given more than a sniff to the kitty in her foster home.
She is learning to walk on a leash politely, but needs a harness, as sudden noises still startle her.

Meteor - Adoptable

Age: 2 years
Dogs: yes
Cats: unknown
kids: over 8
This sweet 2 year old Saint mix has blasted into Colorado and is ready his happy ever after!
Meteror gets along famously with his foster dog brother and family. He loves snuggles, car rides and being with people. Being a true ladies’ man, he warms up quicker to women than to men, but that doesn’t mean he does like men, it just takes him a minute to decide that you are going to be best friends forever.
He does have a bit of anxiety around being left alone – his foster family has opted to give him free roam while they are gone as he bent the kennel and shredded his bed on the first day. He has not caused any havoc while alone, but has had a few accidents – he would do best in a home where someone can spend a lot of time with him. The good news is he has done very well at dog friendly patios and such, meaning he can go lots of places with you!

Perma fosters
Our perma fosters are dogs that we have accepted into rescue, but for one reason or another are not candidates for adoption. Sometimes it’s medical, sometimes it’s behavioral quirks – but regardless we honor the commitment of “welcome to the good life!” that we made made when we said YES to them.
Chevy - Perma foster

At nearly 14 (!) Chevy is a bit stuck in his ways for us to consider placing him in a new home. His favorite activities include barking at the whippersnappers in the park, getting together with his senior cat foster brother to swap stories about the old days, and making sure that his human foster family has to sleep awkwardly on the bed by laying right across the middle.
Chevy’s on-going monthly medical expenses include anti-inflammatory meds ($90/month) and a prescription food to help keep his stomach settled ($100/month)
If you would like to make a donation to help us continue to care for Chevy you can do so here
Toby - Perma foster

Toby came to us in 2019 and had an adopter all set – unfortunately we discovered that he has pretty severe hip dysplasia. Due to his size, he is not a candidate for medical intervention, so we opted to keep him in rescue as a perma foster to ensure he gets the care that he needs. Toby’s favorite activities include playing through the fence with the neighbor’s dogs, laying in the sun when the rest of us are melting, and wondering when the front door is going to open so he can try to get through it.
Toby’s monthly expenses include anti-inflammatory meds ($90/month) If you would like to donate to his care you can do so here
Jacob - Perma foster

Jacob is a 4 year old Saint who came to CSBR after being run over by a bus (yes, you did read that right!)
When he first arrived we weren’t sure if he would make it, but through the dedication of his foster and the wonderful vets we work with he has gone from being unable to walk more than a few steps to being able to run up and down stairs, play with his foster siblings, and snuggle on the couch! We know that eventually his injuries will catch up with him, but until then, we are honored to give him the best life we can!
Jacob’s monthly expenses include anti-inflammatory meds ($90/month) and nerve pain medication ($75/month). If you would like to donate for Jacob’s care you can do so here
Maggie and Gus - Perma fosters

Maggie and Gus are a bonded pair of 7 year old siblings that came to us after their original owner could no longer care for them due to personal health issues and a medical procedure that Maggie needed (a TPLO).
Maggie and Gus thrive on routine, and after discussing with their foster, we recently made the decision that they are very well settled into life and would likely not adjust to a new home well.
Lackey - Perma foster

Lackey came to us after he was hit by a car and needed urgent medical attention. Unfortunately the placement of the break meant that Lackey lost one of his front legs. This coupled with how long it took him to adjust to his foster home lead us to decide that his foster home was his always home.
Lackey gets supplements ($100/month) and anti inflammatory meds ($90/month) to help with the arthritis that comes with being a tripod.
If you would like to donate for Lackey’s care you can do so here
