Clarissa is a stunning young Saint Bernard that is looking for her people. And yes, that tongue is real, and ALWAYS hanging out. She unfortunately missed out on a lot of the training when she was young that helps a dog become a well behaved companion, but her foster family is working with her on impulse control and alternate behaviors for her trigger stacking, and she is doing amazing so far, but still has some work to do.
Her furever family will need to continue the work, but she is smart and knows all of her cues and listens a solid 90% of the time. Because she doesn’t have her impulse control on lock, we don’t recommend families with kids under 12, as when she gets the zoomies, no one is safe. She would do best with a fenced yard so she can get her yayas out.
Clarissa loves couch time and will hang out with you while you relax, but really shines playing in the yard or learning new training cues. She still hasn’t mastered “catch”, but is a pro at all of the standard cues. She will need an active family and would prefer to have an energetic dog friend to bounce around the yard with. Cats are unknown for her, but i would tend to think she might try to play with them a bit too much.
